I'm currently out of contract and was wondering if I can transfer my number to this Sim only deal?

Any advice would be great, thanks.

Has anyone found an easy way of checking your balance of remaining allowances yet - other than through your account on the internet?

I'd love to know, too. It's fine if I'm at home, but when I'm out-&-about, or go away for a few days, I don't necessarily have access to the internet.
    If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!

Yes you can, just get your PAC code off your current provider, sign up to tesco and tell them your it. They usualy transfer it pretty quickly.

Sorry to bring this topic back up.

I've just expired with o2 and after paying way over the odds I am in need of a new contract. Saw the one mentioned above with Tesco (available here) and was under the impression it was a monthly rolling contract i.e. you can cancel with a months notice? However, it says 12 month contract despite it being under the 30 Day Sim Special offer tab..

    Whats the deal?

    Hi Jainsy,

Have you looked at the GiffGaff £10 Goodybag. Seems to be very popular.

I am currently running down my Tesco PAYG account and may go to GiffGaff.

GiffGaff looks good. Are you able to set-up automatic renewals of your goodybag though? In effect making it similar to a contract, this may sound lazy but this is something I would forget to do!

Beware . My son had a Tesco unlimited text sim and there is a fair usage policy of 3000 texts per month - after that they charge you per text.

The better value if you have a text obsessed child is to pay as you go and spend £5 creidt on bundle of 5000 texts per month.

I was going to switch to this deal when it first came out but rang Virgin to get my pac code and they offered to increase my 200 mins to 800, keep my UL texts and have UL internet for £10 per month on a monthly rolling contract. Asked if OH could have same deal and they said yes.

Virgin do seem to reward loyalty more.

Not at all. They rang a couple of weeks ago to see if I was still happy with my contract and offered me a Blackberry, 600 min, UL texts, UL internet, 18 mth contract for £15 per month. No threats involved.

When I asked for same deal for OH the first time they said "yes" so he didn't have to even ring to ask for pac code. They also asked me if he wanted a new contract this time.

Much better than Vodafone who I also have a contract with for DD. I'm out of contract so rang through to upgrade and the deal was poor! Didn't get any better when I asked for my pac code.
