Higher Tax Allowance

It has been anounced that the basic tax allowance is to increase by £1000 to £7490. There has been no mention of the higher rate for the over 65's. Does anyone know if the same increase applies to this age group.

    The £1000 increase to £7475 for the basic allowance is exceptional.

    The age related allowances are indexed still - and the increases (£450 on each ..... over 65 and over 75) were announced several weeks ago. Listed on the HMRC site here:
