Hiya to anyone out there who may be reading this
Been a long term lurker on the MSE forums and have learnt a great deal over the years. I am lucky enough to be nearing the end of my debt repayment, this time last year I owed £6k+, now I have approx £1800 to pay off. I am aiming to get rid of this debt within the next six months, I cold probably achieve it sooner but have decided that this year I am actually going to have a life!
A bit about me, I am a 26 year old single girl from Glasgow. I work varied hours each week, they usually (hopefully) equate to around 160hrs each month however can be a bit more or a bit less.
Have many goals I hope to achieve this year, everything from losing a bit of weight, meeting new people to paying off my debt and starting to save.
I'm going to go, have a look around the boards for more tips and make a budget plan for Febuary, has to be better than this months!!!
Will update soon x

Hello again Diary
I originally vowed to write in here everyday possible however my internet connection has been down AGAIN!!! All seems well now so hopefully no more net problems. Moneywise things are ok, have found some more little sneaky ways to cut costs with my travelling expenses
.
I am on track to have enough work this month to equate to full time hours so thats a relief.
Also, have realised that the interest on my overdraft will eventually be more than any interest on my savings so I am seriously considering transferring my savings over. Always thought it was silly that people had debts as well as savings but now I am in the same position I understand how hard it can be to give the savings up even though its for the best financially. So I think i could empty my savings apart from £200 to leave as a buffer then the rest would make a large dent towards my debt. Have the rest of the weekend to think about it but thats the likely plan.
Non money wise I am still making an effort to socialise more and have a life, harder than I thought though! Guess January is a hard month for that sort of thing. I want to find a hobby and get fit, keeping my new years resolutions alive.
I am going to use this diary to monitor and reassess my goals, I am new to online diaries so hopefully intime I will be able to write more indepth like many of the diaries on here.0
