Old coffee stain

I spilled some coffee on a powder blue (dry clean only) coat. Two weeks later took it to Morrisons Supermarket Dry cleaning Dept. Just picked it up with note saying something like "couldn't get stain out and may damage fabric if try any stronger cleaning fluid" I'm gutted, looks exactly the same as when I handed it in.
I looked at other suggestions for coffee stains but all seem to be for fabrics one can treat then wash but this is dry clean only. I'm heartbroken to think I may have to throw beautiful coat in the bin! Help!!!

You could try OXI- Clean not the one for whites .mix a bit up put a coth underneath and dab.I had a nasty coffee stain on a wool carpet and this stuff shifted it .0 -
Hi, something similar happened to me. I left my lovely cream wool jacket on the back of a chair at a wedding reception and came back to find an mysterious brown splodge on the collar.
Whatever it was didnt come out after dry cleaning. I decide that seeing as the jacket was ruined anyway I would put some stain remover on it and chuck it in the washing machine on 30 degrees.
Amazingly the stain came out and the jacket was fine. I was maybe very lucky but it might be worth a try if all else fails.0 -
I would try carpet stain remover hun, spray it on and keep damp sponging until the stain lifts. or a specialist cleaner which i think is called 'Dabitoff'? it was especially for dry clean only fabrics - if you can still get it?0

OK guys, As I got the coat from a charity shop for £8 and these specialist stain remover products are expensive.... I'm going to blast it with whatever I have in the cupboard and hope for the best! I will never EVER buy a coffee from a motorway cafe (which was hideous) and try to drink it going up the M6 again !!!!0

Put it on a wool wash in the washing machine, nothing to lose really as it is ruined as it is.
Re- the coffee, I keep a few straws in the glove box for exactly this purpose.
I love my coffee so take it in a travel mug but use the straw , I'm not the driver btw, just before someone rips me a new one.0 -
this thread may give you some ideas or inspiration
I would probably try a delicate wash knowing i could ruin it - because you were going to bin it anyway.
not sure if that helps
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
