Ive decided this is the month/year that i get organised and save more money in the kitchen, and it appears meal planning is the way to go...3 days a week im working late and not at home for dinner--this is when my OH and 2 girls end up making a mish mash of dinners..I used to cook their meals before work, but honestly got fed up cooking 7 days a week and working 10 hr shifts,so decided 3 days a week they could cook for themselves and have their much longed for "frozen chicken portions/fish/sausages" or whatever.I do "suggest" what OH should make for dinner, but then he will allow the girls to make their own meals and he often has something completely different...which considering he cant cook often results in an open packet of frozen fish portions for one..frozen breaded chicken or similar for another and the 3rd making tuna pasta etc etc.,this in turn leaves uneven amounts of different foods that can no longer be made into the same meal for a family of 3 or 4..IYKWIM.
.I want to meal plan so that they cannot deviate from the weekly meals,I think if they saw the weekly meals planned out in an organised manner they may appreciate it more,I was thinking along the lines of a family planner type thing, where i could write a shopping list and the dinner for each corresponding day on a week to view type planner/calender...but i dont want to pay £9.99 or similar for such an item..has anyone seen anything reasonably priced?
Or can anyone else suggest a visible meal planner that looks nice enough to hang on the kitchen wall? Thanks.

There appears to be a number of calendar shops that have set up (probably temporarily) in shopping centres prior to Christmas that are now selling off their stock at 40% off. The one here had a fair selection of family planners - might be worth a look around if you are shopping in the next few days. - I think this is them and you can order online. http://www.calendarclub.co.uk/c-256-family-calendars.aspxAdventure before Dementia!0

Poundland or similar have calenders for £1 and also diaries-I have started using a page a day diary and putting my meal plan for the week in at the beginning of the week so any one can look at it to see what is on the menu. Also put all activities/appointments etc in on a weekly basis so they all know who is where when!Have a calender on the wall so if I need to can put dates on when people phone, these then go in the diary-works for us :-D"Sealed Pot challenge" member No 1099 2011/£26.00:j
