Tonics?

I feel a real old lady asking this:o but does anyone use a tonic when recovering from illness? I usually bounce back pretty well but am struggling getting over pneumonia and my energy levels are rock bottom so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The illness itself is being monitored by the doctor, of course, so I stress I am not after advice re a medical condition, just feeling shattered while recovering. Thanks.

Great question, I'd like to know this too. My sister and hubby have had nasty flu/colds/chest infections since mid-Nov amd just can't shake them off. They are now very rundown and need a "pick-me-up".

I always get Minadex tonic for my DD if she's a bit run down after illness etc. I never used to believe in tonics, but my mum bought it for her once when she was little and the boost it gave her was amazing and quick.

She's 22 now and still takes it from time to time even now if she needs a pick-me-up. I don't know whether it's the iron content that helps or what, but it's well worth the money for occasional short-term use. You can probably get just adult versions, I think Seven Seas make one, but she finds the flavour of Minadex palatable and the adult dose is 10ml x 3 times a day so it hits the spot rapidly.

There's this one too, although it's for adults and kids too and the dose is still 30ml per day for adults, so wouldn't be much cheaper.

All on 3 for 2 in Boots anyway.

Have you tried Floradix? I used to take it when I was feeling run down. You can get it in Holland and Barrett or health food shops.
