life lesson #1: just cos the BB date has passed doesn't mean food is inedible.
1. if it is in a tin it'll last for years and years.
2. otherwise, if it's not green/grey/hairy, give it a taste. Nothing bad will happen.
endeth the lesson.
still, I'm surprised that someone who is (at an educated guess) 21 is asking this question...0 -
Ive got tins in my cupboard that migrated from my old kitchen that i had ripped out approx 10 years ago.
I opened a tin of chicken soup just before xmas, poured it in a jug, heated it up and mmmmh nice. When i took the tin to the sink to rinse it out i scrapped a bit off the bottom and it was a bit ewwwkk
i remember about 25 years ago i stayed onboard a boat that was involved in some illegal radioanyhow we were served soup that the dutch had given them 5 years before i was born !!! This soup came out the tin in a solid lump i kid you not but mmmmh boyo it was loverly

In 1982 when my late husband was working in the Sudan he wrote to tell me that they were selling tinned corned beef in the local market with the label on the outside of the boxes saying in english a present from the GDR (1948) and folk were buying it and presumably eating it0

'Low' fat rice pudding is an abomination and regardless of date should be thrown out*.
You can lower your fat intake through adjusting portion size and varying your diet. It should never be done through using silly low-fat or low-sugar alternatives to standard quality produce.
* Obviously I do not think you should do this. But your really should not encourage the fools and should not buy such nonsense in the first place.
It was probably on offer when I brought it. I don't diet, I just eat sensibly. If I were to wish to loose weight (which would be really stupid on my part) I wouldn't go near rice pudding at all.
Think i'll crack it open for pud tonight, with a big dollop of jam, as suggest. Yum yum.2011 Wins : Models own makeup product, Photoplusx4 software:j Mens hair dye :rotfl:0 -

Hmm, i'd just rather be sure. If it were something like veg, i'd not give it a second thought. I guess cause its dairy i'm just being cautious. Can't really afford to take a sick day due to carelessness.2011 Wins : Models own makeup product, Photoplusx4 software:j Mens hair dye :rotfl:0
