Asking for debt reductions?

I posted the other day about one of my creditors offering me a 50% reduction on my debt if I paid it within 7 days... I did by the way, it was too good an offer to turn down, just need to pay off my extra overdraft which shouldn't take long.
Anyway a couple of people have suggested I call my other creditors telling them what I was offered and to ask if they would do the same...
What do you think? Would it work?

There is a template letter for Full and Final Settlement offers on the National Debtline Link at the top of the page.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I think it's worth a punt, why not start with ones which are most similar to that particular debt and see what happens?0
