Need Advice on renewing mortgage

Hi All


My first three years are up on my mortgage of £55.000 and am currently on a tracker until I get a new mortgage deal arranged,

I am currently with the northern bank which have qouted me a fixed mortgage over the next five years of 4.78 % but the setup fees come to nearly £1000

And they keep hassleing me to take out bigger life insurance policy which has put me right off them,

Can someone recommend me a good mortgage packgage.

House value is approx £140.000
25 year mortgage

I was paying £347.00 amonth
Now paying £305.00 a month

I was thinking of doing nothing but I am afraid of the interest rates going up soon.

Have a look at First Direct. With your excellent LTV you could get a very competitive 5 year fix at 3.89% for a booking fee of only £99. I've just calculated that with their 5 year fix over 20 years you'd be paying in the region of £330 per month. It also has the benefit of unlimited overpayments.
