FTB - fixed, variable or tracker?

Hello,

Hope someone can help us! I have always thought when I was looking for a mortgage it would be at fixed rate, but now I am not sure?
I am now thinking a capped variable rate might be better?

    Bring down the mortgage balance as quickly as possible?

    Worried about the impact of rising interest rates on your budget?

    Prefer known repayments over an extended period?

    Choice of mortgage is very much personal preference.

    Answered your own question there.

    If you are concerned about rate rises you should be looking at a fixed rate, or a capped if the cap is at a good rate.
