Birthday pressies ideas for 7yr boy?

I'm looking for some ideas for a 7 year old boys birthday present please. It's for my friends little boy and I really don't want to spend more than £7-10. The cheaper the better really, but don't want to look tight. He's a typical boy and loves car etc, but I'm really stuck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

  • At that age my son loved his lego.

as the previous poster says lego is quite a good bet and there are probably some good things around the budget in the sales at the moment
    same with knex
you could get a book on cars...the works usually have something

maybe something to do with top gear as thats car related....the cool wall or something stig eg the soap and bubble bath / shower gel

  • Thanks for the replies. I'd never thought of lego and aren't sure what knex are, but will have a look. I'd just hit a brick walll as everything in my world is pink and fluffy!

knex is an alternative to lego ....lots of little plastic bits that interlock with connectors to make things...

Another thought is possibly something from science museum....sold in whsmith..they again may even have some things in the sale...

also how about something like an ant farm...my son had one for years at about that age I think we bought it in oxfam (their new gifts not the donated ones)...that always used to be a good place for inspiration and good sales offers...

I have three boys. Yes lego is good and easy to get. Alternatively you can get a lot of books for your money from book people or red house but try to find a free delivery code or buy some for yourself to spend enough for free delivery.
