Tax Return - changed from rent a room to live 'out' landlord

For the last tax return year I was live-in landlord for the first half then part move way through I moved out renting out the whole property.
Do I file 2 tax returns - 1 under rent a room scheme and the other outright rented property. Or can this situation be covered under the one return.
Any help or pointing in the right direction much appreciated

You should restrict the 4,250 rent a room relief to the proportion of the year you were renting a room, if applicable. Note that when you are claiming rent a room relief it is simply an option - you can choose to account for the room under normal rental property rules if this is better for you. I have clients who benefit from the rent a room option and others who'd be worse off using it.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0
