Excited about fixed rate mortgage ending this year!

Hi all,
I am new here and just wanted to do a new post as i am so excited about my 6.9% 3year fixed rate mortgage that is coming to an end this july. It means my monthly payments of £232 will drop even lower (as rates are so much lower at the moment) and i will be able to start saving more although i might decide to contribute a bit extra each month to my monthly payments anyway as they will be so low! This year is a good one for me freeing up more money, my virgin media contract is ending next month too which is way overpriced so i shall be going elsewhere for phone and broadband and changing to freeview!
Is anyone else excited about this year?!?:)

Hi FFW
I am excited about this year too, I have spent the last few months on maternity leave earning standard maternity pay so could only dream about making a start on clearing the mortgage, I go back to work in 1 weeks time so will have full wages again :j - This will be the year i throw everything at the mortgage and make dreams a reality. This year is also my 10th year with the company so im due to get some gift vouchers - New wardrobe i think!
Good luck in your MF Journey, May 2011 be a financially great year for everyone :T:T:TBalance as at Dec 2010 £88,000Balance as at Oct 2013 £0Original MF date 01.05.2027 :mad:Morgage free as of 24/10/2013 (13.5 years early) :j0 -
I am excited too as our 5.95% fixed rate ends in August. We currently pay £650 a month so hopefully this will drop quite a bit. We have just started to make small overpayments. It is so exciting to use the mortgage calculator to see how much will we save in the long run.

Good luck guys!!0 -
Another one with a fixed rate of 5.44% ending in June 2011
Just hope the rates don't start to climb again at the same time! Am limited to £500 OP's each month at the moment but come June (unless I fix again) I can overpay by any amount. Will look at the deals nearer the time but may look to OP as much as I can for a few months and then fix.

Yep, me too! 3yr fixed (although was really 3yrs 3 months) rate of 5.99% ends in October so will start looking around in August...roll on the summer! Luckily doing lots of overpaying during the 3 yrs has taken a good chunk of the mortgage so LTV is looking good too.
Good luck
