How to not spend cash?

I have £407 in the account and about £15 cash in wallet, have direct debits of like £37 due out next week and I will owe about £400 rent to cover me up to start of Feburary.
I have an overflowing fridge full of food so no fear of going short but I like to buy bargains and go to supermarkets around 7pm and get like 10p stuff reduced from £5 and just stock it in freezer(have stuff months old in there)
I am paid about £122 in 10 days but supposed to be going to a student party on Wednesday(and its been over 12 months since I last went out!)
I MIGHT have about £10-£30 in another bank account that I rarely use.
I used to be the sort of person who could make £5 last a week as I rarely ate now I get into a frame of mind where I must buy as many reduced stuff as I can find or go to car boot sales for dvds and dvd players(so dont buy anything expensive) and used to eat everything up before I bought more now I just hoard.
I mean I have like 32 bottles of 2 litre pop stored in kitchen too!

I think there is a point where buying a bargain is no longer a bargain. If you buy too much stuff you don't end up eating/using it or you have stocks until the next ice age. Sometimes having 64 litres of pop or 400 toilet rolls or whatever isn't so appealing when you need petrol or to pay something else. Maybe easier to think of it like that? Lol.
I think your answer is to eat the mountains of food you have, sort out what needs to be paid when and go to that party if you can. Is it a house party? If so at least you can take your own drinks (I doubt you'll get through 64litres though!).0 -

Well rent is paid weekly but I am about a month behind as landlord is away and I lost his bank details and he doesnt like to give them out over phone, so up till this week I owe about 200 in rent and about £30 in utilities to him, then £50 a week for next few weeks so I can have cash available but would rather just pay rent and be done with it but doing that means I wont have any cash to spend but a then means I dont owe any rent or other bills.
I also have £150 overdraft but dont want to touch that unless I have to
If I count all the food i have and being a bit greedy I could say that it would last 2-4 weeks maybe more, I have like 6 chicken breasts in freezer, 6 beef steaks, a whole large beef joint, a haggis, a whole chicken, about 3 packs of birds eye lattices, and that is off top of head!0 -
There's no point buying bargains if you're not eating them all.... you should now set out to eat your fridge/freezer bare and leave no strange packet uncooked.
My dad's always out looking for the bargains, but the truth is, he doesn't bring home bargains, he brings home too much food that has yellow stickers on it that doesn't get eaten in time and then he throws stuff out. It's such a waste.
Every time you pick up a bargain ask yourself: Is it really a bargain, or am I being sucked in as it's got a reduced label on it? Do I really want/like/need it? Will I really eat it - and when - and with what? And train yourself to put back things that won't really get eaten or aren't true bargains. e.g. a £4 curry reduced to £1.50 isn't a bargain if the budget range ones are already 99p, or if you can make your own for 50p.0 -

Lol. At least you won't go hungry!
Dare I say go to the OS board and they will probably make it last most of the year the way they are able to produce meals from nowhere.0 -
I have been a victim of the yellow stickers too! but have told myself TODAY am making batch of chilli, batch of spag bol and defrosting a load of pittas to take to work with smoked salmon. Going to freeze the peppers I bought to ration them out and limit myself to one freshly squeezed orange a day not the 3/4 I Have been having! Hoping won't need to food shop for 10 days...here goes...:rotfl:0
