TV LICENSE FEE
It says on the tv licensing dot biz website. You are NOT obliged by law to reply to the letters sent out by the TV licensing; avoid starting correspondence with them. IS THIS TRUE
Are there any laws thats the TV License breaches is there a way round it?
I dont need a mobile phone license to buy a pay as you go mobile or enter into a contract to gain a signal so why should be have to pay for a TV License
I was given a TV (was also given a mobile phone on pay as you go). They both provde a service. However, I do have to option to restrict my phone from international calls and also premium rate numbers.
The TV License fee surely is illegal as TV, Freesat, Freeview boxes including Sky and cable extra do not PROVIDE or GIVE you the choice to OPT OUT of the BBC Channels. Therefore they are not providing you with a choice. Are these items also not missold under the sales of goods act as they do not clearly state that an annual subscription charge is payable to the BBC?
I DO NOT choose to pay my license fee so the Chief Exec can earn £500,000 a year nor the likes of J.Ross and other to earn millions of pounds a year at ur expene.
If the take me to court, how can I legally challenge this. Is the court of Human Rights willing to take this onboard.
With higher VAT higher petrol (come on folks were were protesting years ago when it reached a record £1.20 a litre in London) I am unemplyed and I cant afford to pay a fee. I did not sign a legal contract for them to be my service provider. I did not sign a subscription fee.
How can a this "contract" be legal?
Do I pay my license of dont I please help me out. Are there any legal arguments for non payment?

If you use any device to watch live or almost live broadcast TV within the UK then you need a TV licence.
The licence is not contract but a requirement of UK law to watch broadcast TV in the UK. If you do not like it, vote for a political party that promises to do away with it.
The licence funds other TV channels as well as just the BBC and pays part of the infrastructure costs associated with providing the signal and the digital service.
When you buy air time from a phone provider they have paid the licence fee for you up front. They paid several £billion to buy the licences of the State several years ago. They recoup these costs from the cost of phone calls.
Do you think that programmes from other channels would be as good if there were no competition from the BBC. Having traveled to many countries, IMHO TV in the UK is far superior and this is IMHO due to the BBC and the unique competition it delivers.
If you do not want to pay the licence fee do not watch live or nearly live TV within the UK. The choice is yours! Simples!0 -

You are not obliged to contact TVL, let them in your home or respond to any correspondence from them. No law that requires you to do that.
May I suggest you take a look at this forum. It has lots of information about the BBC TVL and your rights. http://www.tvlicensing.biz/phpBB3/index.phpSay No to smart meters!
