At my place, CVs with gaps are sifted out by admin staff so I won't even see them.
I've never ever met a recruiter who cares about 30 year old work experience. If it's to see if you've been in the jail, or are ill, there's better ways of finding that out.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Agreed. But if you are a manager recruiting a position, are you going to read 200 CVs? Or is your assistant/HR person going to bin 70-80% of them for 'presentation' issues such as spelling, poor layout, details missing, gaps, etc???0 -

But that has nothing to do with going back 30 years or more. To me it is irrelevant what the6y were doing when they left school(if it that long ago) I dont want to know it.It will also make the CV longer then it should be.
10 years should be standard along with correct spelling and punctuation."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
My most relevant work was 1986-2000, since then I've been geographically challenged and bummed about a bit, so I will always put the previous stuff on.0

I'll read them all myself until I get 6 people to see, and bin the rest. I don't need the best person, I need a good person. So no need to read them all.Debt free 4th April 2007.
