I agree this cant be used as a portable drive, the offer might have ended but others will be available, but this is perfect as an external hard drive. :)

I did mention the external 1TB drive. :)
And in doing so you stated that the portable drive this thread relates to was "Not A Good Deal" on the basis of a comparison with a desk top, wired to the mains, external brick like, not in the least bit portable drive, which is of course an altogether different product. ;)

It appears to be £48.99 for the Seagate 500GB Expansion Portable Hard Drive? Whoops, sorry thats the price before 15% discount, duh! Someone else said you can buy from PC World for £42, and if you order via Quidco for collection in store you still get the Quidco cashback. So if you want it in a hurry may be worth doing?

Just got mine today brilliant and works like a charm on blue-ray player and tv with usb

I gave it to daughter and ordered another one this time 1tb for backups

20% off via TCB now and also the code which knocks off £9 so £50.99 for 1tb minus 20% off £40 roughly. These are very small and lightwieght
