I noticed on my payslip that I got a tax Credit of £50 this month. I just want to ensure that they can't go back and be like "oh we shouldn't have done that" or can they?

Its not a tax credit , its a tax rebate.

Have any of your circumstances changed recently ? New employer , been out sick from work ?

You can rest assured that if HMRC have given you a rebate in your wages it will be correct. Go ahead and enjoy it lol
The loopy one has gone :j

HMRC don't give rebates through wages - employers do, and they can make mistakes.

Check your previous payslip against this one. See if your tax code has changed, and check that the total pay to date on the previous payslip, plus the gross pay on the latest one add up to the total pay to date on the latest one. It is an easy error not to update the previous pay period when processing wages (depending on what you use to calculate wages).

If your earnings have gone down to below £540 per month, then that is why you have a refund & if they stay down you may get refund every month to the end of the tax year. Then in the next tax year starting April you should not be paying tax at all until you work longer hours again. Hope that helps!
