Hi all
This is just a quick note.
Over the last couple of weeks I've posted several small, and probably very trivial looking questions on here about loans, and the processes etc.
Anyway, I'm glad to say I now have the funds in the account from my consolidation loan with Natwest. I know this isn't the way most people go, but it will save me over £100 a month on what I was paying before.
I have also had my "lightbulb" moment of sorts, and will be making every effort to get this paid off asap.
I will probably be on here very rarely now. However, if I come across any money saving tips or hints anywhere, I will pop in and share them.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time to read my despairing notes, and replied to them.
Also, to all those trying to pick themselves up and find their own ways out of debt - keep at it, keep strong, keep those around you close, and don't forget your friends on here. My very best wishes to all of you.
Thanks and good luck.
Dings
PS - I get married in 4 weeks, and I'm so pleased to have got myself straightened out before the big day.

Well slightly disappointed in this motley crew that there hasn't been a reply in over 8 hours so i will say
Well done on doing what you feel is best, just make sure that you don't fall into the bad habits and make your debt worse and keep coming back to teh board to reinforce what you have learnt

Sorry, that sounds a bit negative. I should have said:

I totally echo James23's words. Cut up the cards. They're too much of a temptation.
I got debt free after a LOT of hard work about two years ago then used an Argos card "for Christmas". £1789 later I realised that the bad ol' days were creeeping back in.
I cut up the card, paid off the debt in three (living on air) months and vowed never to take out a loan/credit card again. 18 months later I still haven't taken either out. Ain't easy though.
Cut 'em up and bite the bullet.0
