Adding name to mortage

Hi all
I have been married for 2 years and the mortage is in my wifes name. She had neck cancer 7 months ago followed by radio/chemo treatment. At moment she is clear but is worried if it did return but with more drastic results, she is worried what would happen to me whether the house would be automatically transfered into my name. We are thinking of moving so do we wait until then or do it now for securied.

I'd make sure you both have wills in place at the very least. That should take care of her wishes.

I'd also suggest that having power of attorney drawn up would also be a good idea.

If a move is planned very soon, it probably isn't worth the expense of changing the ownership of the existing property - if a will is in place.
