feeling down

Hi i recently started my dmp with CCCS 1st payment coming out 10th January.
I saved all last month to try to get a decent amount of money into my bank so i wouldn't have to worry. i am down to my last few pence and so worried something will trip me up, my latest ESA payment i haven't received as my medical certificate hasn't been received yet (posted 3 weeks ago) So means i cannot afford shopping this week.
I am struggling on only benefits 9as i have been signed off work due to my health in my pregnancy) and am so worried that if a payment is late for whatever reason then i wont be able to pay my bills.
I am awaiting my health in pregnancy grant money so i can buy some things for myself and baby (i have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes too)
I am awaiting my maternity allowance which i applied for 3 weeks ago and my surestart grant as my health is so bad i need to be prepared for an early birth and have NOTHING yet for the baby.
Please tell me this will get better?
CCCS DMP paperwork sent 30/11/10
1st payment starts 10th January :T

hopefully paid off in 5 years :)

By the looks of it, you're almost 6 months pregnant (congrats!)...can you not just start maternity leave? Don't know if it's just my work policy or common practice that you will be made to start if you have 4 weeks continuous pregnancy related absence at this stage anyway? The maternity pay may help if you're entitled to this.
  • Hey you,
This post is an absolute nightmare and I feel for you in this situation. Have you got food in? Worried that you said can't get any more shopping. If not, Is there a good friend who you can eat with? Otherwise there are local charities I am sure that I am sure will be glad to help you with food - don't let your strength get down.
Hope things are up on the up asap!x

I do have food in in the freezer and tins of beans in the cupboard will just have to cope for the next week. Just been invited to mums for sunday lunch so at least i can have a wholesome meal there.

    Hi Joanne2008

Sorry to read about your predicament. At the risk of being completely our of order, we have some baby stuff that is surplus to requirements and may be able to help you out with a few bits and bobs. Hope you are not offended by this.

If you are interested, please PM me your address and we can get some baby grows etc in the post to you if you would like them.

Take care, Adfax, Mrs Adfax and Little Adfax

Try freecycle for baby bits and bobs. I knew someone when I was pregnant who went on and on about how many bits she sourced from there. Lots of people love to regain some space when baby is bigger so will be pleased to rehome some bits.
  • Also might you be able to get a Crisis Loan to tide you over?

would your doctor be able to write you another sick note, it looks like the other one may have gone AWOL?

I hope it all gets sorted soon, and I wish you & the new life inside you all the best xxx
