Claiming relocation expenses for self-employment/working at home

Options
Hi,
I am self-employed and work at home. Last year I moved house to a different part of the country. I am currently trying to do my tax return and I am wondering whether I can claim a percentage of my removal expenses (as my business effectively moved with me) and if so, what the percentage should be and what I would claim it under. Can anyone advise? Any tips greatly appreciated!

You will need to interpret this? I would suggest you can only claim specifically for :
removing trading stocks, stores, tools, and office or other equipment

......... if you don't have it itemised? Then you need to attempt to apportion the cost ...... much more likely to be challenged?

If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • Thanks for your advice. Nothing is itemised on the invoice I got from the removal firm so I guess I am better not attempting to apportion anything to the business.
