appointment with barclays PPI removal please help!!
I've got an appointment tomorrow at a barclays branch to try & cancel the PPI on my loan. I've tried sooooo many times in the past but am always told i have to cancel the agreement & take out another loan.
I got Barclays new terms & conditions for their PPI the other day:rolleyes: and it states quite clearly that you can cancel after the 30 day period. There is absolutely no mention of having to cancel loan & reapply. Any advice how I should handle this tomorrow (apart from quoting their T&Cs, which doesn't seem to make any difference with them:mad: )?
Am i right that i should be able to cancel the PPI without restructuring loan?
Would really really appreciate advice with this!
Thanks

I think not.
The loan and the PPI form a contract under the Consumer credit act. The bank has to obey by what is printed on the CCA agreement (they can't vary interest rate or monthly repayment) so the customer has too.
It is common practise where PPI is to be taken off a loan then the original loan has to be unraveled and you start again.
The trick is to get Barclays to give you the same rate (or better) than the original loan.
The only other way round it would be for them to repay the PPI rebate directly into the loan but your monthly repayment would stay the same , the term of the loan would obviously be less.0
