Leaving a job and then going bankrupt

Well I fully agree with mckneff - op was happy to spend others money but now fancies some time off being paid for by me and my fellow taxpayers.
I don't mind people going br if there is a genuine reason and they do their best to make amends but if they just can't be bothered as seems to be the case here I have no sympathy ad they see br as an easy way out.
There are many days I don't feel like going to work including days when my illnesses are playing me up but I still struggle through, If I can why can't the op?Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0 -
What did you spend it on!?0

I can see the viewpoint of McKneff and blue_haddock here - there is a massive difference between losing a job through no fault of your own and falling on hard times, and choosing to leave your job in order to avoid paying debts. Perhaps there should be some kind of sanction scheme as there is with JSA?Gone ... or have I?0

How is that helpful? People who post for help do not have to explain what their debts were spent on.blue_haddock wrote: »Or bring back debtors prisons!

Listen I fully understand the hardship people go through and the position their life must be in when going bankrupt. However this story does not get any sympathy from me. This person has racked up a hefty bill, lives at home with minimal outgoings and yet wants to give up their job for the easy life and sees no point in paying their creditors. Sorry but this is an easy way out for this person, undeservedly.0
