I wanna know more about Polly Pocket!

My daughter is 4 and a half and has a few Polly Pocket bits (just the dolls and a few clothes - no big things). I was thinking about christmas, and have seen loads and loads of "big" Polly Pocket accessories like the snow hotel, dress and drive disco, etc etc. Someone told me that the "quick-click"(?) was good as the doll and clothes were magnetic and Polly just had to spin round and she was dressed (wish life was that simple!). Can anyone help? I don't want to buy a big thing for the sake of it - she does just like playing dollies and dressing Polly up, but if there was one thing that any Polly Pocket experts out there would get...what would it be?? I was looking at the Dress and Drive Disco, but is that a bit much at £20? Thanks for your help! x

My DD loves Polly Pocket, she is also 4. She has loads of it, people seemed to catch onto the fact that she liked it and she got loads for her birthday. I have to say that she isnt as keen on the click on stuff, it always gets left to the side. We have the car, limo and salon ( i think). For Christmas she wants the cruise ship. I think its about £40. It looks to be a bit like a dolls house (albeit inside a cruise ship). I have to say with DD its money well spent, she plays with it all the time. When we were in America earlier this year we bought her the PP case and she keeps it all in there and takes it to childminders, grandparents etc so if you could get a small case for it too she would love that. The bits are so tiny they are easily lost.

HTH - IF you spot any PP bargains please let me know!!

I have an enormous collection of original polly pocket (2 32inch TV boxes full to be exact **blush**) Some of them cost me up to £50, it was rather obsessive!!. DD played with it for a long time from aged about 4, she is 9 now and prefers the newer pollies.

She has most of the quick click range which is rather fun as when you turn the knob polly changes her outfit. Id recommend it, it does seem expensive but certainly for Ellie it had a lot of play value.

As for bargains, well, home bargains usually has a bit of polly in store, and Argos have the occasional offer :)

Mine loved the fashion polly (dress up ones) at 4 and still do at 10 so it's money well spent. However it is always being reduced so I wouldn't worry to much about buying the latest items out unless that's what she really wants. Amazon did have some on offer last month. Boots usually have some on 3for 2, toys r us usually have a deal on at Xmas and I'd put good money on Argos and Woolies reducing it before Xmas.

Is the cheaper quick-click stuff good (boutique for around £13, limo for around £10). Presumably you can only use the quick-click clothes with a quick-click polly (blimey - try saying that after a few!!).
Thanks for your help here!! x

DD prefers quick click, more play value in those I feel :)

If you want the rainbow you have to go through the rain.

DMP start jan 2012 hopefull finish march 2020

Weight to loose 49lbs done of 91lbs finally sat in a pair of size 14 jeans and top for the first time in 14 years :j
  • My daughter was 4 in july and got loads of PP stuff for her birthday, just this week got round to opening the house of style (quick click) that she had wanted for ages and i must say i was disappointed
the clothes are really fiddily to load and the elevator mechanism is not the easiest thing for a four year old to work, she hasn't managed to do it on her own yet - would suggest this for an older child
We have to fountain and water pool add ons and these are ok (very messy as the fountain splashes everywhere) , but think the cars are probably better !
just hoping santa brings her some better bits (only so i can play with them)
  • My daughter has just turned 3 and adores her polly pocket but couldn't get to grips with the quick click stuff as she couldn't fix them in place properly so that they "clicked" IYSWIM

Definitely a good buy though as she spends ages playing with it.

We didn't get on with the click stuff at all, it kept falling off when played with. Back to the original for us.
