Anyone any idea who the top 3 mortgage providers in the UK in 2010 would be in terms of most mortgages sold? Who are the really big players in the market?

  • Article produced Sept 2010, using 2009 figures... http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/3a5881bc-bbf6-11df-a972-00144feab49a.html#axzz1ALWUnjLk

Lloyds, Santander, Nationwide, RBS, Barclays, HSBC were the top 6, taking 92% of market share.

Its too early for 2010 figures to be collated I suspect, but as the market hasn't changed much during that time, its probably a similar list.

Thanks guys. I found the report that that FT article references if anyone is interested: cml.org.uk/cml/publications/newsandviews/73/263

It wasn't released untill September 2010 so I'm not expecting the 2010 report any tine soon.

Edit: Sorry I would have posted a better link but I'm too now so I'm not allowed.
