Just been online to register a new MR Kettle bought last week, in order to benefit from their much trumpeted additional year's warranty (i.e. two years instead of one). Seemed like a good idea as our last two kettles went wrong quite quickly.
Anyway, filled in the personal and product details, so far so good. Then over the page it wanted my partner's name, age, occupation as well as my own, plus details of any children at home (and pets!), our household income, what sort of house we live in and whether it is mortgaged!
Now I'm bound to get bombarded with unwanted emails from all sorts of firms that I'm not interested in . I almost quit but really did want the free extension. The price you have to pay I suppose
. No such thing as a free warranty!

You only need to provide the personal and product details, just leave the rest blank.0

Lol now you tell me! I thought it might be one of those tick box forms like on surveys where it won't let you complete until you've answered ALL the questions.
Forgot to add, they also wanted to know when our house and car insurances are due for renewal. That's a dead giveaway isn't it?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

When asked these questions I tell them the house/car insurance was just done last month (doesn't matter what month you're currently in). They don't know when it was really done but most places can't quote more than 1 month ahead any way as premiums fluctuate so just lie through your teeth!0 -

It is rather I never fill all that in when I send one of those forms, it is a warranty they do not need all that cr*p just to validate it, as you said in your OP now you will have to sit back and wait to be spammed by email, phone and letter by all sorts of companies trying to sell you rubbish.:D0
