Struggling with application

i am filling in a job app and it says "Describe a time you have overcome a difficult situation or problem'...and i don't have a clue what to write..has anybody else come across this?

For something like that you want something with a proactive solution, and something which preferably shows skill/experience development, e.g.

'I was having difficulty understanding X so I took a course'.

'I was having a problem communicating with a colleague so I arranged some time with him/her to sit down and talk through it'.

It's hard to be more specific without knowing what the job is or what your background is.

someone will come along with something good in a minute I am sure (sorry jennikitten I was cross posting!!) but ... they want to know you can problem solve and work under pressure etc.

Look for an answer along the lines of ... I used to have difficulty speaking in public, I overcame this by building up my confidence in increasingly larger groups and by researching my subject and developing my knowledge base etc, I am now much more confident and enjoy speaking in large groups.

Google the question and you will get alot of results as well!
