Saubryns DFW Diary - finally started one.

Well, I've been starting threads on here off and on for ages, so I figured I'd keep it all in one place and start a diary :)

I first came on here panicked as anything because the council wanted to evict my husband and I for rent arreers, we got an arrangement, and we've paid off £750 of the arreers as of last statement from the council - I'm hoping next statement will show we've paid off a total of £1000.

I had a ton of other debts, still do, but the big thing for me is that they've stopped going up, and gradually are going down.

I owe a ton to NPower for the gas and electric - long story there, but when I was on benefit I kept getting my payments stopped for various reasons, which meant I defaulted on several arrangements with them.

Now that I'm self employed, I've ended up agreeing to a pre-payment meter for the electric - I know they cost more in the long run, but at this stage in our life I think it will be easier to budget that way, and I managed to get them to agree to take the debt back at a lower (more affordable) amount than they wanted from a payment arrangement.

The gas is on an arrangement - it was at a less severe stage so they were more flexible with that.

I'm still waiting for the council to sort out housing benefit based on the tax credits we're getting - our last statement showed they hadn't even credited the run-on yet so the arreers are mounting up again :( I hope that gets sorted out soon!

The business scholarship I got has been proving useful and interesting, I really need to work on the business plan they want for the funding - if I pass the course we can expand, and pay all this stuff back at a decent rate!

Thanks for listening to me waffle :)

Just got my clicker from Shop & Scan this morning - big thanks to the person who sent me the code they had lying around!

I have a spare old computer that I'm setting up in the kitchen for scanning - its a shame they don't pay cash, but the vouchers will come in handy for presents, etc.

I've had a nasty shock today - got a guy calling round from the council - my arreers are back over 2000 because they haven't processed my housing benefit - in fact they didn't even know I'd been claiming! They also said they haven't had any payments from me in ages - they sent out a new payment card, which I'd been using - and its been going onto the wrong account.

I explained everything and he said he'd look into getting the payments I'd made transfered onto the correct account, but he was adamant I have to pay full rent, and started going on about eviction again.

I know it should all work itself out when I talk to the benefit people tomorrow, but I feel physically sick about it even so. I'm totally panicked at the moment - I thought that things were starting to sort themselves out - its been well over a year since we went to court about it and its been steadily going down...

    Argh! :(

The guy from the council didn't call back yesterday... *fume*

I sent off my application to 82 Ask last night - we need some more money coming in just in case the council pull anything stupid - I'm sure if it went to court we'd be Ok, but I remember last time it went that far I couldn't stop stressing.

Here's hoping 82Ask will accept me.
