ok, our baby is due in march, and i've managed to get everything set up and all the big things bought. so now i'd like to stock up on nappies. but as this is our first little nipper i've no idea what to get. so any ideas on quantity for the first say 6 months?? and sizes??

Our little one was 7lb 15oz and was in size one for the first 3 or 4 weeks then into size 2. She's only now gone into size 3 and is 22 weeks and weighs 15lb 9oz. I would say newborns prob get through 6 to 8 nappies a day on average. I ve just ordered her some of the size 4s to put away and managed to get my parenting code to work!!!:j

I would advise NOT to buy 6 months of diapers they are all different sizes babies and grow differently..

My wee one was 11lb 2.5 oz and 22inches long! So obviously the newborn didn't fit him I found Newbaby size 2 the best. and would say that you could get a few packs of size 2 and a couple of size 3

but 6 months is a LONG time and its not really worth t to buy that many nappies Asda etc always have deals.

I agree with the post about not buying too many little nappies, my two were 5lbs and 7lbs, so both got some use out of newborn nappies, but a friend of mine had a 10lb baby so she didn't get any use out of them! also, some nappies don't suit some babies - I found that huggies leaked with my two girls but pampers didn't, but my friend with the huge baby boy found huggies were better for him. There are offers coming round for Sainsburys and Asda and you can sometimes get till printed vouchers for pampers in Sainsburys. aslo if you sign up on the pampers website they send you out vouchers from time to time. hth.

My 3rd baby is 10 weeks and is still in no2 pampers and he is a big baby and I've stocked up on his and his elder brothers nappies for the next year! I found with the first baby that I was keen to move my son up a size as was keen to see him grow bigger. With my 3rd now I am more open minded and happy tokeep him in size 2 until I find them getting leaky. Even with the size of the mega boxes I always find I end up buying more. Never underestimate how many nappies you will need, it's always loads more. I've just bought 4 mega boxes on this deal and will also stock upon the asda/sainsburys deals coming up (all sizes).

Great find thanks, just wanted to say I put the voucher code in and it showed it was the £5 parent club voucher. However the actual £5 off the total did not show until I went further on in the process to the final payment screen - hope that helps I nearly gave as I thought it hadn't worked!

that didnt work for me :(
  • Just had an e-mail from boots saying that my order has been cancelled. I had ordered the baby dry in a size 4. Anyone else had theirs cancelled?
