OLD THREAD 2010 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2188047

NEW THREAD FOR 2011:

The areas of my life listed below need 'balancing' and I will focus on different areas each day so no area gets neglected xxx (not listed in any particular order)

FINANCES (MONDAYS)
HOME (TUESDAYS)
RELATIONSHIP (WEDNESDAYS)
CHILDREN (THURSDAYS)
WORK (FRIDAYS)
HEALTH (SATURDAYS)
SPIRTUALITY (SATURDAYS)
FRIENDS (SUNDAYS)
EDUCATION (SUNDAYS)

So today is CHILDREN day. I'm wallpapering/painting/new carpeting DD2 bedroom at the moment and alongside the three jobs I'm working and running the house as a single parent I'm feeling a bit supermum - but despite being busy, must always remember to hug my girls everyday and tell them I love them.

Have fun everyone, feel the love :happyhear

edit, my child benefit hasn't been paid, I have no idea why as my youngest is 12, anyone else had this problem?x

  • Just phoned them. If you report a change the benefit stops automatically after 20 weeks, I didn't know that. They have to manually switch it back on. How this is keeping children out of poverty I don't know? What if I couldn't afford the phone call? Rant over...

Work is all good in my camp. One of my jobs finishes at the end of jan and I think I will be getting something to replace it, I have enjoyed spending the extra income on my girls x

Hey guys, I am just about to become debt free in the next couple of weeks. Am I allowed to carry on loitering in the dfw forum? x

The way I see it, debt does not begin and end with finances but is equally relevant in the other areas I am trying to balance. I will not feel wealthy until I have all nine areas sorted out, so even if I'm not overdrawn in the bank I might still feel a debt to myself because I haven't contacted a friend for a long time, or studied properly this week, or prayed for a long time, or eaten 5 fruit and veg today.

  • Yesterday was HEALTH and SPIRITUALITY day. I thought about how much weight I have put on I'm currently 67.4 kilos (10 stones 8 pounds) and 5 feet tall so could do with losing a bit (not beating myself up too much as gave up smoking on November 1st last year). I spent the day hanging wallpaper and fitting a carpet so feel I got plenty of exercise (also got the furniture back in, bed up and made so littlun could spend the night in there). I am trying to get on the wii fit more, unsuccessfully so far, but thats the whole point of this thread to give me focus. I feel spiritually I need to pray a bit more and put some bible study into my routine. I think when the house is decorated it will be easier to establish a good routine.

Today is FRIENDS and EDUCATION day. I'm visiting some friends later and one is coming to visit me. But there are a coiuple I need to get in touch with as well, they are getting married in June and I need to accept the invitation (inspiration to get fit...). For education I want to sit down when I have finished touching up DD2s room and read my brand new course books which arrived from the OU yesterday, how exciting!!

    Have a lovely Sunday x

    Here you are renovation.girl with a new thread - I didn't realise....oops.

I have subscribed and like you will be concentrating on all the areas of my life that need revitalising, refreshing and revision! I am toying with writing my own diary as sometimes I feel like I am invading other peoples threads.

In my opinion those of us who are relatively debt free but intending to stay that way are most certainly "debt free wannabees" and are just at home on here as anyone else. My own particular route here has been hellish and only completed with the help of this forum and I don't intend leaving anytime soon especially with my hand to mouth existence. Anything can and invariably does happen!!

Have a good day and don't stop writing...

    Best wishes
