  • This might be a bit too laid back for you but there are some lovely youth hostels that can host weddings. You hire the whole thing and then can put in your own catering (e.g. hog roast), bring your own booze (much cheaper) and anything else you want. Easy for the kids as you have the run of the place so they won't get in anyone else's way and very cheap accommodation on site for guests (apparently many hostels have double/family rooms and en-suites nowadays).

I haven't been to a wedding like that, but have heard of good reports from friend who have. I'm sure that the Youth Hostel assoc will have a website.
  • I read you are getting married in Scotland this year. If you are looking for a bagpiper for your day please feel free to get in touch. My husband has been playing the bagpipes for 16 years (started at the age of 10) and has played at many functions and events. He currently plays in the top end of the pipe band circuit. We live in Kinross but he will travel anywhere in Scotland. He also doesn't say a price until he has spoken to you so that you get value for money and he doesn't charge expensive fees. His e-mail address is peterjamesmorris@yahoo.com or feel free to telephone 07500709546.

If we can help you further with venues etc. we would be willing to help as we know a number of local hotels etc.
