Cabbages - what's the difference?
Can someone explain to me (simply) the difference between spring, summer and winter cabbage? Is this when you sow them or when you harvest? Can I sow them all in spring? Is it because they are different shapes?
I love the pointy 'greyhound' type, and savoy cabbage, but never get them to form proper heads. What am I doing wrong?

If I'm over the hill, where was the top?

Cabbages for Spring, Summer or Winter harvesting, are sown within a few months of each other but are ready for harvesting as their name suggests. The packets should tell you when to sow. There is good information on growing cabbage here :- http://www.growyourown.info/page92.html0
