Hi
Had an email today from www.mysupermarket.com clearly stating that I had won £250.
"Dear Stephen,
Congratulations on your saver of the month award of £250.
Shop, save and be our next SUPER SAVER.
All you need to do is keep on using mySupermarket to get great savings on your shopping.
Become our next SUPER SAVER – and win £250.
Each month, mySupermarket will award it's SUPER SAVERS:
Enter the monthly draw to win an incredible £250 off your next grocery shopping."
I logged on to see where I could claim my £250 prize. Not finding anything I emailed them and they replied as follows:
"
Dear Stephen,
Thanks for your email.
We had a technical error this afternoon which resulted in a handful of customers receiving the wrong email. We just launched the competition todaywhereby the mySupermarket shopper who saves the most throughout January 2011 will win their groceries for FREE throughout February (Up to £250). The winner will be announced at the start of February. More info on the competition and current leaders can be seen on our Facebook page:

Apologies for the confusion caused by this email and we wish you the best of luck in the competition. You can see how much you’ve saved so far on our homepage – www.mySupermarket.com
Kind regards,
Jonny"
I have a few questions, did anyone else get this email and a) should they honour the email, I've been told emails are accepted as legally binding and b) if not do you think they should offer a voucher as a goodwill gesture?
Regards
Stephen

I had the email aswell, I just deleted it because I thought it was an advert to encourage you to use them.0

I got it too.......0

Me too, then later got another email from them entitled "latest offer clarification" but it was blank. Did get a bit excited when I got the first email!0

Got the same set of e-mail messages, the second e-mail contained a hidden link to a website that didn't exist.
Did have my doubts when I read the initial e-mail as it was very poorly written, it had all the hallmarks of a scam.
But I'm sure there are laws against misleading people, especially when there's no disclaimer such as "E&OE".
Very unprofessional in my opinion.0 -
