Employer Paid Me With Cheque Which Has Bounced!

    You've been doing work for this company/man, but you have nothing in writing !!

    How do you expect anyone to help you -a solicitor, union, court ??

    It's just your word against his.

    Sorry you're wrong.
    The courts would almost certainly find on balance in the employees favour. How many employees have written contracts. Not many, particularly with regards to small businesses.
    There is evidence anyway in the form of the bounced cheque.
    As I said, this person must speak to ACAS asap.

    I'm not saying he might not get his money, but it may be a long slog.

    I'm sure ACAS, Citizens Advice will give lots of helpful advice, then leave him to it.

    Don't forget the employer probably has money to get busy making things difficult
    & putting up a smokescreen.
