Anybody know of a cheap(ish) printer with low cost ink cartridge? Just need black text printer - no fancy photo copying, faxing, print photos, or colour text.
Had enough of the all in ones that cost a bomb in ink replacements.

Epson printers are probably better if you want to use compatibles
Amazon currently have an SX125 for £33 delivered, though compatibles are not available for those yet, apparently they may be in March

They also have a Canon Pixma MP280 for £37 delivered, though could not find compatibles for that either

Photo printing uses the ink, if you are only printing documents, using genuine cartridges should not be too expensive, and if you only use it occasionally, Epson Cartridges have an additive which prevents them from drying out.
For some reason a lot of printer manufacturers are producing more all in ones than standard printers.0 -
I am not sure if this is what you mean, but I got fed up of being ripped off by inkjet printers and bought a Brother Laser Printer. It is B&W as requested and very cheap to run.0

Yes I agree with you, but I have found that the cheaper the printer the more expensive the cartridges,I have spent more on these than the printer cost me in the first place!Epson printers are probably better if you want to use compatibles

Kodak printers have the cheapest ink. Around £7.99 for a black cartridge and £11.99 for colour - all genuine ink. I've used cheaper ink cartridges in previous printers which have leaked and spoiled the printer.0

I know you said you wanted a cheapish printer, but this Kodak one is £59.99. http://www.ryman.co.uk/1225032297/Kodak-ESP3250-3-in-1-Colour-Printer-Copier-Scanner/Product
There's also a £5 off voucher code for any purchases over £50. http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/search/?q=rymans&corrected=ryman
It might be fancier than you need, but I think the cost of the ink will be worth it in the long run.
For some reason I can't put a link in. The code for £5 off is AFFVC550 though.0
