Regular Exercise is important for everyone and that includes people with arthritis. This research is quite helpful in reporting the benefits of arthirits patients going to an exercise class.
I feel that you would benefit more from actually going to a class where you will get feedback not only from the other class members who are in your situation but guidance from the class leader. I'm sure some people are self disciplined enough to keep going with a home video but if your like I am it would be a nine day (if your lucky) wonder and once the novelty has worn off there would be lots of good reasons why I couldn't be bothered. If I'd paid for a class I'd be less likely to give up.
Patient Uk advice on exercise has a link to www.whi.org.uk which is an effort to organise short walks locally for people with limited abilities. and these links may also be worth pursuing.

I'd also ask my doctor if they would suggest local exercise for the disabled contacts. There are sure to be some and I think going out and exercising with other people would be better for you than any video/dvd.
But I haven't seen the video and am just speaking from my own viewpoint. I know I'd be dead keen for a week or so, fairly keen for the next week and have forgotten where I put the video a month later. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
