  • Hi, everyone

I'm the "do" part of dojo designs (my sister Joanne is the "jo" part) and I'm new to this forum. We've been making jewellery for just over a year in whatever free time we can manage to grab (we both have full-time jobs too!) and what started as a hobby making pieces for ourselves grew into more than that when friends and work colleagues wanted to buy what we'd made. Hence, we decided to set up dojo designs. We attended a couple of craft fairs in the run up to Christmas (some of which were more successful than others) and really enjoyed ourselves. Our work was very well received and we got lots of favourable feedback which was really encouraging. We'd love to try a few more this year but so far we'd had no luck.

Hopefully 2011 will be a good year!
  • Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a few stall holders for a charity event. It is our County AGM within Guiding, and to make it a more sociable occasion we are hoping to hold a small mini-craft fair afterwards. There are usually about 70-80 in attendance but it would be closed to those people, and not open to the public. It should be a good evening .- age range from 14 to 60+
It will be held in Cullybackey, and may only last about an hour (after the business!) but it may go on for longer. I have jewellery so i'm looking for something different...maybe candles...beauty products?
A percentage of sales would go towards Girlguiding North Antrim, minimum 15% - no table fee.
First time we've tried it. It's 8th March. If interested contact me via facebook - search for Miriam's Wish and it should come up ok. or m. mcilvenna @gmail. com (no spaces).
    Thanks
    Miriam
  • Applications now open for Designer/Makers to CraftNI's Making It 2011 programme - could be a good opportunity for anyone wanting to develop a full time craft business and raise their profile on the professional craft circuit!

DJWW - cos we won't let it!
  • Hi Everyone

Can anyone recommend a good candle supply company in the Uk or indeed Northern ireland that keeps a good range of candle supplies. Am thinking about making gel candles and would love someone to recommend me a supplier that they are happy with.

    Thanks
    Tracey

Hi Tracey....I use The Soap Kitchen (mainland Uk) for all of my soap & candlemaking supplies....they have a great choice and customer service and delivery times are excellent!

  • Hi Tracy I use, 4 candles (yes after the famous 2 Ronnies joke) for all my supplies except fragrance. They are great for large quantities of wax and jars etc. I buy my oils from Jo at Sensory Perfection. Just google them for the web sites.
  • Also the Craft Fair in Carrick Town Hall is to be held again on Saturday 26th of February, contact Shona 07895885292. Think its the same as last week 10-2 tables £8 but don't quote me on that.
