With regard to the "Never knowingly undersold"
they state that the competitor should offer comparable guarantee

how does this work if the majority only offer 1 yr guarantee and JL state they are offering "free 5 or 2 year guarantee"

Surely by "free" they should price match the lower price anyway

any comments gratefully received on any loopholes before I look to place an order

I called John Lewis and asked them about this as I wanted them to price match a coffee machine for me and if they offer a longer guarentee then they wont price match it

I picked another coffee machine and JL guarentee was the same as Argos (12 months) so they price matched it for me.

back in august they price-matched fridge freezer, but now asked them to price match laptop, but they have come up with the warranty excuse.
it seems that now their price-promise does not really mean anything as (as a previous poster has mentioned), most electrical goods come with a 1 year guarantee.
