I couldn't get some of the links to work either - but others did.

    Worth a bookmark anyway.
  • I had no problem with links on the site for the free downloads.

If you mean you wanted to get to the actual artist site you should try

    https://www.swillandtheswaggerband.co.uk

    or https://www.tmtch.net

Also, in agreement with lincolnscot, the Martha Tilston album is well worth a listen

Definitely the download link. There isn't one!

I assume you have to put in your cart, sign up and check out and I really can't be bothered with all that.

Some titles (the compilations) have direct download links.

The usual comment when I mention TMTCH is - are they still around?

I love the stuff Swill has done and I've even been to the odd gig :o)

They're usually really good value and good fun too

Hopefully a few new fans will emerge from this thread.

  • I only came across this website by doing a search for music on Google and I don't want to sound like a hippy or anything but this link has really improved my evening. I haven't even downloaded much, sure I checked out the Swill and the Swagger Band tracks, and they are enjoyable. Very enjoyable (even though it started a small scale argument tonight over punk/folk/politics by way of Billy Bragg, Iraq, disabilities and 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here') but what started off as a bit of curiosity/crossed with a never ending quest for music for nowt, ended up with me and some Soprano's having a highly enjoyable evening after the pub listening to streaming 'folk' music in the background instead of the usual rigmarole of constantly changing discs on the CD player.

My advice would be to download (for free) Martha Tilston and the Woods 'Ropeswing' followed by Swill and the Swagger Band 'Go Instrumental EP' , please ignore everything else!!!!!

But then, for a pleasant surprise, click on the 'listen on-line' button - it's not that easy to find but when you do it's well worth it.
  • An excellent download, made even better by being free.
@ Lilmiss, download it, then you'll know who they are and you won't be disappointed. :)
A freshing break to all the 'same' music that there is at the moment!
  • Hi folks,
I'm really pleased so many people like Swill and the Swaggerband
Not bad for my first post. If i find any other free music I'lll certainly let you know

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the tip Nick. Great site, interesting to surf and plenty of free music.:T
  • On further listening Jamie Clark's Perfect - EP is also pretty good. Put me in mind of Weddings, Parties, Anything
  • Great EP. I'm going to download the album now. Has anyone heard that?
