Need your help please...

Hi guys,
I could really do with your help please.Im a full time mature student with a 7 year old child who has been looking for a job that would allow me to work upto 20 hours a week to no avail.:sad:

Its very scary and stressful when you try so hard to get a part time job but with the current situation where no jobs are available,im considering looking for a voluntary job or some kind of internship.

My question is -will i get working tax credit if i volunteer in any industry or ever some intern job without pay?

Im trying my best (saving so hard cos i dont want to run dry financially in the summer when my student loan and SAAS payment stops for the summer).

Your help will greatly be appreciated.

Only paid work is counted towards Working Tax Credit so you won't get it for volunteering:
What Counts As Paid Work

If you are worried about finances please speak to one of the advisors at the student union/student support services at your university. They'll go through your finances, make sure you're claiming everything you can and help you budget if you need it. Your union is likely to run a jobshop as well which is a good place to look for work.
