Owed tax - how long?

Options
I am owed tax from September. When can I expect a refund?

I have tried to contact the tax office today but no joy - sat waiting on the 0845 number!

Thanks in advance!

  • I am still waiting from October - keep being fobbed off. Try ringing this number 01355 359022 you will get through quicker on that number.

you just gotta hope your refund is not held for 'security checks' lol - it will be held for a while as I am finding out...

Thanks for your help. Got straight through on that number.

My tax code changed in November to compensate, so will not be getting a cheque! Thanks for your help.
  • Wish mine was that quick. They changed my tax code - now waiting for £600 from them since they agreed it in October!!!

Have they changed the tax code to include the £600? That is what happened to mine!
  • No mine is from a previous tax year. So got a refund in my salary but also owed from years before that

same here. had my refund for this year in novembers pays, waiting on one for year before. amounts were finalised on nov 22nd, then i waited three weeks for 'security checks'(they have three weeks to do this) , then i rang them back and they re-referred it to security, allegedly pushing it along. this buys them another FOUR weeks. that 4 weeks is up this friday. rang them today and its still 'awaiting' clearance... its a bloody joke. they will get until monday then my guns shall be blazing! my plan is to be a complete pain in their backsides.
