New lego minifigures- series 3

My DS has just discovered on the Lego site that series 3 of the 16 collectable mini figures is out later this month (check out the cool Elf- I need this one myself). However, I have just read that the barcode will not be on the back of the packet to prevent people from 'selecting' the ones they want .
But they have been replaced by a series of bumps on the reverse of the packet instead. Quick search on Google and I have found this site http://www.fbtb.net/2010/11/18/series-3-blind-pack-code-cracked/ . The codes may or may not work but I for one will be trying them out - obviously getting yet more strange looks from the staff at John Lewis

where do you buy the mini figures from, do local stores sell them as we dont have a JL near us?
What is the site you found out about the release of series 3?
We are only just starting to collect lego so any help is much appreciated.0 -

Our Argos, W H Smith and a Toymaster store have them. Try Toys R Us too.

Lego.com has them when they're actually on sale; eurobricks forum, brickset and some blogs have info before then. eg there are already pics of the fabulous- looking series 4 which aren't out till April.

Enjoy!
Good luck with the bumps too...They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -

Hi Ashcarrot, My son loves these and we're planning a trip to WH smith this weekend. Just wondered where you had got the WHsmith voucher? I'm a member of their privillage club but the only voucher I could see is 20% off cards and paper.:( Thanks, Juliet.x0 -
We went to WH smith armed with the code breaker info today. Spent ages trying to find the right ones, could see the dimples but found some of them fainter than others and also there were a few that had small pockets of trapped air in the sealed edge (which made it harder)! Out of the 4 we bought 2 turned out to be the ones we wanted, which wasn't a great success but better than just taking pot luck, I guess!0
