I would say to go down the ledger route for a year or 2 of experience.

I have a 2:2 in Finance, spent a year and a half in 2 slaes ledger roles for 2 different companys. Now I am the sole Financial Controller for a company who are also putting me through my ACCA exams.
So I got a great job after just a year and a half.

So yeah, you do need a bit of experience but your degree does stand you in good stead over other applicants when you are applying for higher roles and you will find it wont be too long before you are in the position you want to be in. Just a little patience....... and putting up with a sales ledger role for a short while. :)

    1. I am thinking of omitting my degree from my cv and hopefully do some of those jobs that include AAT training or just a basic ledger job, for short term job experience.

So how do i go about filling the 3 year gap and is it "illegal" to withhold information from the company?

Witholding info is not a 'legal' problem unless they have explicitly asked for it.

Most application forms ask something like "Highest educational qualification attained" - it would be difficult to hide the fact that you had done a degree.

You ought not attempt to make stuff up to fill the 3-year gap if you leave out the degree. It would be all too easy for an interviewer to ask questions about jobs you claimed to do that you would have to lie about. It would be difficult to keep a consistent story through your CV, application form and interview. Then there are references, what if they ask for references from made-up employers? Or you couild claim to have been travelling for 3 yrs - again difficult to keep a consistent and convincing story and someone who had bummed around for so long might not be an attractive prospect for an employer.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
