Cheapest Way of Borrowing £3,000?
We have a few things coming up in 2011 including daughters wedding and, as well as using some of our savings, want to take out a loan of about £3,000.
The loans listed on MSE all seem to be geared towards people who are borrowing much more than this. So what would be the cheapest way of borrowing this smaller amount? Is there a way of doing it on a 0% credit card to start with and perhaps having a loan once the 0% deal has run out?

take out a 0% spend card.
Pay for weddingy stuff on it, get extra protection into the bargain.
In X months time then transfer it to a 0% balance transfer card.
Net cost = £3000.

What AndyM says. But it may cost you marginally more than £0 as there may be transfer fees to consider. And the occasional stamp/phone call ;-)0

Thanks. The only thing about this is Im worried how it will affect my credit score. Ive taken out 0% cards in the past and it all adds up to your score.0 -

Exactly but surely people say right lets get married but not now, lets wait for a couple of years to save up then maybe the wedding will be a lot better knowing that they have saved up for their special day.
TIP if you have worked hard all your life and earn loads of money always sign a prenuptial..0
