Married, but new Mortgage in one name?

Hello I have a default on my credit record dating back to 2005 (due to no job after having children!). It 'goes' in September this year.
Last time we moved house was 2004, no problem getting a mortgage. But I am aware things have changed a lot since then. We need to move house ASAP this year to get 3 bedrooms. We do not need to increase the mortgage, could probably reduce it slightly even.
BUT:
Although my husband has a 100% good track record and excellent credit rating, I do not: I have a default and therefore currently Poor rating.
Will this mean we can't get a joint mortgage? Is it perhaps easier to get a mortgage just in his name and do a solicitors document to say I'm entitled to live in the house? Or am I over-reacting and his excellent rating will balance mine up?
I am worried and need advice! Thanks

I dont think it will make any difference. Any way you can get a joint mortgage based on just your husbands earnings, so your credit staus will be imaterial.0
