After a visit to currys, luton, to purchase a new LCD tv I checked the t'internet on my mobile to make sure I was getting the best deal. Lo and behold the set I was about to part £699 with for could be secured online with Currys' internet counterpart Dixons for just £559. I approached one of the salesman who checked his computer and said that it was still coming up at £699 instore but said he would check with his manager. Said manager came and apathetically told me that Dixons were an internet only venture and that currys do not price match with them. I reminded him that Dixons were prepared to sell me the same telly with free delivery for £140 less and he pointed out that three quarters of currys' lines can be obtained on Dixons for a lot less. So there you go...money saving advice (unwittingly) from Currys, whose service in the face of internet competition remains unswervingly dire. In the end I went to Amaxon, paid the same price including free delivery and diverted my hard earned from the arrogant clutches of the DSG empire.

well done for posting this , with modern tecnonolgy and apps on phones shops really need to sharpen up their act , I know they will have higher overheads , but faced with a no sale and with proof on your phone ofr a competitive dsg price , they should have priced matched their own company / partner . if only for future sales0

Curry's are great aren't they. My local one is starting to resemble a Russian electrical store in the 1970's (half empty, no prices), except I doubt that the Russian stores were so untidy. I approached a senior sales person a while ago to see whether they could match a price to be told no because it was illegal!!! Needless to say I didn't say another word just laughed and left. It is sad when peoples lives depend upon the jobs but, i can't see them lasting much longer as they are.0
