Have you tried online retailers.
Some of the dresses are excellent quality.

I ordered these to match a Teatro dress then wimped out as they were higher than I normally wear.
But only £11 now, I'm tempted to teeter all over again!0 -
I had 3 weddings last year and bought one from ebay (was a House of fraser dress BNWT paid £7 yet was £130 new), I bought another from the Teatro range at Additions, and the other was in the 70% off sale in Laura Ashley.
Personally if I could afford it, it would have been Monsoon, Coast or perhaps Phase eight but couldn't justify prices at the time. Also liked some from Per Una at M&S and some of the boutiquey ranges at John Lewis.
Think it kind of depends what she is after, what her budget is, and her age. It is worth looking online though as many will do free returns and it is a good way to try in your own home, and with your own shoes/accessories etc. Gives an idea on style/colour too.0 -
I use lightinthebox - it takes a couple of weeks for postage but thier dresses are fab and you can almost guarantee no one else will be wearing your dress - they are truly stunning. I ordered one for a ball I was attending and I was thrilled with it, such good quality. Do be wary of thier size charts - dont use them, I think they messed the charts up as they all show a size out so do what I did and look itup yourself online. Hope you have a fab time0
