My parents always help me out but if they find out i've not been telling the truth (not lying, just not telling truth) then i'll get kicked out anyway (or fall out with them, etc)
I'd suggest that your parents would rather hear it first-hand, from yourself, than having to work it out for themselves when the debt collectors start calling (either on the 'phone or at the door) for you...My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

Best thing is to post over in the debt free wanabee section.
The basics are you need to open up a seperate basic bank account, put what money you have in there and any money you get into it as well. Otherwise the payday lenders will just take any money virtually as soon as it hits your account.
You then need to contact your creditors and ask to keep everything in writing and you need to offer them token repayments, based on what you can afford.
As I say post on the debt free wanabee section, many people who have been in your situation and will offer links to letters you can send as well as people who you can contact.
If you do have anything to sell though, even if it get one or two off your back, I would do so.0 -
Hi thanks for the reply. I already have a £200 O/D setup with my bank but this has been maxed out since I first got it two years ago. I spoke to them the other day but they will not increase the amount because I am self-employed and basically, not guaranteed an income.
As for my mum, i'm seriously not even going there lol. My parents always help me out but if they find out i've not been telling the truth (not lying, just not telling truth) then i'll get kicked out anyway (or fall out with them, etc)
Thanks for the suggestions though (and everyone else that replied)
and to Mr.R, i am sorry. Just felt like you were playing the role of Captain Hindsight for a minute (South Park/YouTube if you aint got a clue what im on about lol)
Hi there
Believe me your parents may rant and rave for a few days but they will help you. There are so many young people getting into debt these days and when I talk to other mothers they say WHY DIDNT HE TELL ME!!!
So I say again let them know and be prepared for a right telling off. It will be ok.
