If you are really going to struggle, could you perhaps ask your employer if, for the first month only, they would be prepared to pay you part of your salary half way through the month ?0

Have you recieved any money from your previous employer, holiday entitlement, weeks pay etc. Might be worth trying if possible stretching this out. If you have any direct debits for bills etc, get them changed to monthly payments of the date you new wages start. It will be hard but I think some employees pay early in January as they have paid early in December. Just makes Feburary longer, might be worth asking when is the next pay date. Also you might not get a full months salary due to when you started. It is a pain as not many employers now pay on a weekly basis. Sorry I probably have not been very helpful.0

Im hoping that I should be ok as I wont need to put any more fuel in the car as my new work place is only 500 meters down the road rather than 15 miles away. Ive checked the freezer and with some crafty bulking and stretching I should only need to buy milk, bread, fresh veggies and sandwich stuff for the kids. My direct debits should all be covered by tax credits and child benefit is due in about 2 weeks so its only money for general day to day living. If I do get desperate I will just have to use the dreaded CC and pay back in full on 1st FebSealed Pot Challenge member #982
